Aaron Bean, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 4th district, has recently shared several updates on social media regarding hurricane preparedness, tax legislation, and a congressional act related to the Gulf of Mexico. Bean, who succeeded John Rutherford in 2023, has been active in both state and national politics for over two decades.
On May 7, 2025, Aaron Bean addressed his constituents with a reminder about National Hurricane Preparedness Week. He emphasized the importance of readiness for potential water and wind threats. “Are YOU ready for water and wind threats?” he asked, advising residents to assess their risks by checking flood zones or evacuation areas and evaluating their home’s structural safety.
Later that day, Bean expressed his support for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, describing it as “pro-growth, pro-jobs, pro-worker, pro-family, and PRO-AMERICAN.” He stated his collaboration with Representative Jason Smith and colleagues on the Ways and Means Committee to ensure these tax cuts are extended.
On May 8, 2025, Bean announced that the House GOP had passed H.R. 276, known as the Gulf of America Act. The act proposes renaming the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America,” highlighting America’s extensive coastline in the region. According to Bean, this change is deemed “just common sense.”
Bean was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida in 1967 and currently resides there. He graduated from Jacksonville University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
