U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean, who represents Florida’s 4th district, addressed upcoming health insurance premium increases ahead of their scheduled announcement for 2026. In a statement released Friday, Bean rejected claims that Republicans are responsible for the rise in premiums.

“Let’s be clear: Republicans are not to blame for premium increases. That’s a political talking point, not a fact. What’s driving up healthcare costs isn’t the expiration of this short-term COVID-era subsidy—it’s the broken system underneath. Americans are paying more, and a temporary tax credit only masks the problem; it doesn’t fix it,” said Bean.

He continued: “Democrats may want to distract from the real issues, but I won’t. I’m focused on real solutions—market-driven reforms that lower costs, increase transparency, and give families more control over their healthcare. That’s the path forward, not more finger-pointing and failed quick fixes.”

Bean has represented Florida’s 4th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding John Rutherford (https://www.congress.gov/member/aaron-bean/B001324). Prior to his current role, he served in both chambers of the Florida legislature: first in the House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008 and then in the Senate from 2012 to 2022 (https://www.flsenate.gov/Senators/s4). Born in Fernandina Beach in 1967, Bean continues to reside there at age 56 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville University earned in 1989.
