U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean welcomed Pastor Chad Weeks of Russell Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs to the U.S. House of Representatives as guest chaplain on April 20, where Weeks delivered the opening prayer.
Bean addressed the House following the prayer, honoring Weeks for his service and leadership. “Mr. Speaker, in a world that often feels out of control, marked by anxiety and fear, how do we respond to the chaos? Pastor Chad Weeks reminds us of a simple but powerful answer: faith,” Bean said.
Bean described Weeks as carrying on a family legacy at Russell Baptist Church, which was founded by his great-grandparents in 1916. He highlighted Weeks’ efforts leading children’s and youth ministries and community outreach during what he called a season of rapid growth for the church. “In a season of rapid growth, he has remained steadfast in holding firm to biblical truths while investing in the next generation,” Bean said.
Weeks attended with his parents Jimmy and Joan Weeks, wife Ashley, and their four children—Ava, Eden, Ella, and John. “I am grateful for his friendship and ministry in Clay County, Florida, and for his boldness in sharing the Gospel,” Bean said.
