U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean expressed his support for the One Big Beautiful Bill on the House floor, a significant piece of legislation aimed at providing tax relief to American families and businesses. The bill passed by a narrow margin of 215 to 214.

During his speech, Congressman Bean highlighted the challenges faced by taxpayers and small business owners in the United States, describing them as facing “a tsunami of tax increases, the largest in U.S. history.” He assured that “help is on the way” with this new legislation, which he described as “real tax relief for real Americans.”

The bill is designed to benefit various groups including those paid in tips, hourly workers, families, seniors struggling with inflation, and the 91% of Americans who use the standard deduction. Key features include an expansion of the Child Tax Credit, border security enhancements, improved education and health savings options, and measures to boost American energy production.

Congressman Bean emphasized that with this bill’s passage, “Made In America will mean something once more,” indicating a renewed focus on domestic production.

Several initiatives from Congressman Bean were incorporated into the bill. These include expanding flexible savings arrangements for healthcare through his Flexible Savings Arrangements for Healthy Robust America (FSA-HRA) Act. Additionally, provisions from his Cutting Unobligated Tumultuous Spending Act aim to reduce wasteful spending by targeting Green New Deal initiatives and recovering unspent Covid funds.

The bill also addresses Medicaid work requirements through H.R. 1279 authored by Congressman Bean. This measure applies to able-bodied adults receiving Medicaid benefits who are not in school and have no dependents.
