CITY OF PALM COAST: Volusia/Flagler SCORE to Offer Business Services at Palm Coast City Hall

City of Palm Coast issued the following announcement.

Volusia/Flagler SCORE - a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship - will offer limited in-person services at Palm Coast City Hall beginning Monday, Nov. 9. 

The Volusia/Flagler SCORE chapter has 40 certified volunteer mentors, ten of whom are based in Flagler County, with a wide spectrum of practical business experience ranging from corporate senior executives to small business owners.

"SCORE provides valuable services to our small business and entrepreneurial community" said Tom Hellman, local SCORE Executive. "Our objective is to help small businesses address problems they are facing and support entrepreneurs in taking their business ideas into reality. We undertake these activities in a way the helps our clients grow their business knowledge while dealing with their challenges. Our success is measured by the success of our clients. In Palm Coast we have had a number of clients who have developed and/or expanded successful businesses. There is no charge to the client for the services provided, thanks in part to the City of Palm Coast."

Mentors will be available by appoint only at City Hall, specifically in the Human Resources Department wing. Scheduling an appointment is easy. Simply visit the organization's website VolusiaFlagler.Score.org or call their office at 386-255-6889. Mentoring will be available in-person or through other means such as virtual meetings, email, and phone. These services are provided at no cost to the clients.

SCORE continues its long-term partnership with the City which is designed to provide confidential mentoring and other educational support activities for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Palm Coast community.

"SCORE and their skilled mentors are a key component to City Council's Business Friendly Initiative," said Chief Development Officer Jason DeLorenzo. "We are excited to have them back in City Hall to assist Palm Coast businesses and entrepreneurs."

About SCORE: SCORE was formed in 1964 as a resource partner of the Small Business Administration whose mission it is to help entrepreneurs and small businesses to succeed.  Today, SCORE has more than 300 Chapters Nationwide with over 10,000 volunteers. The local chapter was created in 1965 and it has been supporting the local entrepreneurial community since that time. Last year, it held over 170 mentoring sessions in Flagler County, approximately 80 percent of which supported Palm Coast entrepreneurs. The vision of SCORE is to be the preeminent provider of counseling and mentoring services to formative and existing small businesses in Flagler County.
