CITY OF PALM COAST: Remember To 'Be Local Buy Local' This Holiday Season

Holiday

City of Palm Coast issued the following announcement.

The holiday season is here once again and the City of Palm Coast reminds residents to 'Be Local Buy Local' in support of local retailers and restaurants.

Shopping local is important, and so is shopping small - as part of the national celebration of Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28. You could shop in-store or online with your favorite local small businesses and share the joy and spirit of this time of year. For more information on Small Business Saturday along with an interactive map, visit www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/shop-small/.

Shopping locally has the added benefit of generating money for amenities and projects for your community, because a portion of the sales tax collected returns back to Palm Coast to fund projects such as parks, road repaving and street lights.

"It's been a challenging year and Palm Coast businesses need our support more so now than ever before," said Palm Coast Mayor Milissa Holland. "I encourage all residents to spend locally providing that much needed boost to the local economy."

Food For Thought: If every resident in Palm Coast were to spend $25 at a local business on Small Business Saturday it would infuse $1.462 million into our local economy.

The City is also participating in the Palm Coast Observer's Holiday Gift Guide. This will be online and in print and can be found at palmcoastobserver.com beginning Nov. 26.
