Students can travel many different roads on their way to academic achievement, and few parents know that as well Denise Minor, who found an online-education program suited to the needs of her son after prior online-schooling efforts failed to overcome his educational challenges.
As a high school student, Anderson Minor, who has been homeschooled all his academic life, found himself tethered to a program that had aggressively shifted its curriculum. The change was difficult for Anderson because the curriculum offered no flexibility and was making homeschool learning difficult as he climbed the ladder in his academic career.
With Anderson now in high school, Denise Minor knew she needed a program that could fulfill his academic standards.
“I did not feel comfortable being the one teaching him the higher-maintenance courses like math and science,” she told NE Florida News.
After hearing from other homeschool parents about Acellus Academy, an accredited online schooling program, Minor decided to enroll her son in the program.
According to its website, Acellus Academy’s high school program allows students to graduate with a diploma from an accredited online school. Each student has access to self-paced courses, engaging video lessons and personalized instruction.
Acellus provided capable instruction on the concepts Anderson needed to comprehend.
“Acellus has managed to be an amazing asset for Anderson,” Denise Minor said.
Each course is self-paced, allowing students to spend extra time when needed to master each lesson concept. Families have the flexibility to plan and adjust study times to fit their schedule.
Minor said that parents looking for a robust education should definitely consider the Acellus program as an option.
“Acellus is built to accommodate any child and primarily builds on their strengths to waste less time and effort,” she said.
Acellus Academy is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a regional accreditation agency.
