Bolles School issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.
Chuck Rogers Park off San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin is now known as Chuck and Corky Rogers Park. A dedication ceremony was held on July 31 with family, friends and
former colleagues. The park was originally named for Chuck Rogers, who worked for the Parks and Recreation Department for 41 years. He started and ran the city’s youth
leagues in all sports and was inducted into the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame. Now Corky’s name joins his father’s as a tribute to his lasting impact on Jacksonville sports, most
notably as having the most wins, state titles, championship game appearances, Hall of Fame inductions and collegiate players of any high school football coach in Florida.
