Park ’25 Takes First in State Violin Competition

Bolles School issued the following announcement on Aug. 2.

Sarah Park ’25 won first place in the State Violin Solo and Violin Concerto categories in the Florida Federation Music Club. Park also won first place in the Florida State Music Teachers Association’s 2021 State Concerto Competition.

Park made all of her competition recordings at The Bolles School, according to Bolles Fine and Performing Arts Director Laura Rippel.

Park is Assistant Concert Master of Philharmonic level with the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra. A student of both the violin and the piano, Park debuted at Carnegie Hall, New York City in 2018 with her violin for the winner's recital at the age of 10. Park has won numerous competitions in both violin and piano at the State and International levels, including the Florida Federation of Music Clubs (FFMC), the American Protégé, Camerata International Music Competition, Sejong Cultural Music Competition and New York Young Virtuoso Competition. She was nominated twice as the Irene Muir in 2019 for the extremely gifted young musicians from the FFMC judges.

Outside of music, Sarah is an active member of the Bolles Robotics Team and Math team at Bolles. She recently won 1st place in Northeast Chapter in Florida state at the MathCounts Competition. Sarah created the Pratt library collection for Women in STEM with the monetary award she received from Florence Nightingale Student Video Competition in STEM. Most recently, she was named one of 10 finalist for the 2021 3M Young Scientist Challenge for her invention, Spark Care+, which applies music to treat mental health conditions.
