The Bolles School issued the following announcement on Aug. 24
Continuing school tradition, Bolles administrators and leaders of the Bolles Honor Council have been hosting special convocations for middle school, freshman and new students on the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus and Middle School Bartram Campuses. The events, held on several days during the week of August 23 on both campuses, are public demonstrations of students’ commitment to upholding the School’s Honor Code.
On the San Jose Campus, Honor Council President Ben McGraw '22 opened the meeting by introducing council members, explaining to students the importance of upholding the Honor Code and reminding students of their responsibility to maintain the School’s expectations of integrity on campus, in the classroom and with their work. Bolles Honor Code reads, “I will maintain my self-respect and respect others. I will not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do.” A student’s honor is a serious matter at Bolles and students are expected to adhere to the Honor Code at all times.
Following the short presentations and in organized fashion, students were asked to approach one of three stations on the McGehee and Parker auditorium stages to sign their name to the Honor Code pledge. The signatures will be collected and posted in a special display case reminding students that at Bolles, they are to hold “Honor Above All.”
