University of North Florida issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.
President Szymanski and First Lady Maria, along with many other members of the Osprey community, hosted a dedication ceremony today for the new Healing Garden on UNF’s campus. The garden will provide a place of natural beauty for all to enjoy, promoting relaxation and peacefulness on UNF’s bustling campus for students, faculty and staff.
Located just outside of the J. Brooks Brown Hall, the Healing Garden includes a rose parterre, therapeutic self-healing labyrinth, healing place sculpture and a reflection pond. The garden will also feature an array of perennial flowers and other plants that not only add to the beauty of the space but will attract helpful insects like bees who are critical for maintaining a healthy ecosystem by providing pollination essential for plant reproduction.
