University of North Florida issued the following announcement on Oct. 6.
UNF Career Services recently hosted the first UNF Career Week, a week packed full of career fairs and networking events that saw over 1,000 Osprey student participants.
As a part of a more centralized Career Services approach, back-to-back events allowed a greater number of employers to dig into specific student groups arranged based on industry and interest. More than 350 companies and 600 employer representatives attended this year’s career fairs, with an impressive 65 of these companies represented by UNF alumni.
The career events featured many of UNF’s strong local employer partners such as Crowley, CSX, Jacksonville Jaguars, FIS, Mayo Clinic, Baptist Health, VyStar and more. There was also an increase in companies attending seeking UNF students for diverse, creative projects like the NASCAR Drive For Diversity Pit Crew Development Program.
This year’s event also featured a highly successful virtual career fair and virtual resume books. The virtual career fair attracted new employers and allowed for more flexible, remote recruiting for employers out of state including Carnival Cruise Lines, Maersk, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and University of Tennessee Space Institute.
