Leaders on all four Bolles campuses hosted special Veterans Day celebrations to honor those who have served our country in the military.

The morning festivities included patriotic songs, special grade-wide fact presentations about the American flag and history, a ukulele performance with singing and recognition of family and friends in the audience who served in the U.S. military. Flag on the Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus shared similar sentiment and veteran pride and also featured music from upper school band musicians and a singing of the National Anthem by Bolles Chorus Director Meredith Mormann. All veterans in attendance were called to the flag pavilion stage to receive recognition from students, faculty and family.

On the Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus, a convocation honoring Veterans Day was held in Parker Auditorium. The presentation included a student-led recitation of the poem, “I am a Veteran,” the National Anthem performed by Victoria Soares ’27 and a video presentation about Veterans Day and how “Taps” is played nightly at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Finally, the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus hosted an Activities period celebration that included the Bolles Singers’ presentation of the National Anthem, remarks from U.S. Naval Flight Officer Lieutenant Tim Johnston and the introduction of VETS club president Katherine Asbury ’24 who acknowledged and thanked all of the Bolles employees on campus who are veterans. Those veterans included: Joe Tepas – Navy; Dean Hilf – Navy; Jeff Role – Army; Paul Arten – Army; Dewayne Mix – Navy; Tony Dennis – Navy; Darrell Carter- Army; Michael Bible – Navy; and Henry Daniels – Army. The event concluded with Bolles musicians Tim Groover II ’24 and Aidan Turney ’25 conducting a trumpet call from the Bolles Hall towers.
