The Bolles School recently issued the following announcement.
Bolles Girls' Cross Country Head Coach Tony Ryan was named the overall and Class 2A Girls’ Coach of the Year in the Florida Dairy Farmers Sports Awards, while Boys’ Cross Country Coach Mike Rivera earned Class 2A Boys’ Coach of the Year honors and Jillian Candelino ’23 earned 2A Girls’ Runner of the Year honors.
Ryan led the Bolles girls to consecutive state titles for the sixth time in program history and for the 13th time overall, moving into sole possession of the record for most state titles in Florida history. The girls also continued their streak of consecutive top-5 state finishes (28) and top-2 finishes (14). The state title is Ryan’s ninth at Bolles and 12th overall in his career.
Rivera led the boys to the program’s sixth state title and his third as coach. Candelino won the girls’ 2A race by 29 seconds.
