City of Jacksonville Beach recently issued the following announcement.
Wednesday, December 15 at 5:30pm
Jacksonville Beach City Council Chambers
11 N. 3rd St, Jacksonville Beach
Work is getting started to conduct a Penman Road study, design the improvements and construct the improvements (construction is probably 4-5 years away). The City of
Jacksonville has hired Peters and Yaffee to conduct the Penman Road Study and the City of Jacksonville has also allocated $40 million toward construction of Penman Road
improvements!
In a 2019 memo to the City of Jacksonville, all three beach communities expressed our desire for Jacksonville to incorporate "complete street" concepts for multi-modal
transportation, and address safety improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists, turning movements at vehicle and pedestrian conflict points, drainage, and aesthetics. The first step in
the process of improving Penman Road will be a study of Penman Road with the goal of the study to identify safety and aesthetic improvements to make Penman Road safer for
pedestrians, bicyclists, and cars.
Don't miss this important opportunity to hear from the consultants about their plans for the Penman Road Study. This will also be a great opportunity for you to ask questions and
share your input about Penman Road with the consultants: what is working, what is not working, what improvements you would like to see made to Penman Road.
