The Bolles Crew concluded a successful 2022 spring season at the FSRA Sweep State Championship April 23-24 in Sarasota. The boys team placed second among schools, winning a state title in the 4V 8+ (3rd overall). The girls’ team placed seventh among schools, also bringing home a state title in the lightweight 4+ (2nd overall). Bolles placed third in the combined standings with additional top placings from the boys’ 3V 8+ (5th), boys’ 2V 8+ (5th), boys’ 1V 8+ (5th), girls’ junior 4+ (6th) and girls’ freshmen 8+ (6th).
Bolles placed second in the girls’, boys’ and combined team standings at the FSRA Sculling State Championships April 9-10 in Sarasota. Top finishing boats included a scholastic state title in the girls’ freshman 2x (4th overall), a scholastic title in the girls’ lightweight 4x (fifth overall), fifth in the boys’ junior 4x final and sixth in the boys’ junior 1x.
Bolles Crew competed at the North District Championship April 1-2, winning the district team title for the fifth consecutive season. The middle school team raced on Friday winning the boys 8+ and placing second in the girls 2x. Saturday, the upper school team competed with wins in the boys’ 3V 8+, boys’ 2V 8+, girls’ lightweight 4+, boys’ varsity 4x and boys’ junior 4x.
Select crews will continue to compete in the postseason at the Southeast Regionals May 13-15 in Sarasota, SRAA Nationals May 26-28 in Camden, New Jersey and Youth Nationals June 8-12 in Sarasota.
