On Saturday, June 25, 2022, the Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Division performed 56 calls-for-service, a record number for June.
Red flags were flying on Saturday, indicating dangerous ocean conditions and a high risk of rip currents. The breakdown summary of the total calls-for-service is as follows:

After-Hours Response: 1
Captain Emahiser, the Ocean Rescue Division’s Captain says, “Despite the increase in dangerous conditions, the highly populated beach day, and the record number of calls-for-service, I would call this day a success. We had no fatal drownings and quick incident response times to all calls-for-service. I am very proud of these professional ocean rescue lifeguards who worked on Saturday.”
