The University of North Florida’s Brooks College of Health is hosting its first annual Healthcare Symposium 2022 “Challenges in a Changing Environment” with participation from major leading Jacksonville and Northeast Florida healthcare institutions.
The UNF Healthcare Symposium is a multidisciplinary conference aimed at educating, engaging and connecting students and professionals through relevant sessions about challenges in the healthcare industry. It will also bring together thought leaders throughout the industry to address the changes and challenges of today and prepare for future ones.
“The time is right for a gathering of this magnitude in Jacksonville, and I want to thank my colleagues on campus and in the community for making this happen,” said UNF Brooks College of Health dean Curt Lox. “The healthcare industry, like many other industries worldwide, is facing a number of unprecedented challenges and the goal of this symposium is to bring the best local minds together to address these issues head-on.”
Key speakers include Pat Geraghty, president and chief executive office at Florida Blue and GuideWell Group, Inc; Geoff Martha, chairman and chief executive officer at Medtronic; Dr. Michael Mayo, president and chief executive office at Baptist Health; and Ann-Marie Knight, vice president, community engagement and chief diversity officer at UF Health Jacksonville.
Topics of the symposium include challenges in workforce development and in healthcare system management, opportunities in healthcare leadership, diversity in the community and the role companies play, changes in healthcare reimbursement, the impact of university and community partnerships, improving access to healthcare, and public health initiatives in the community and healthcare delivery this decade, and more.
The UNF Symposium will take place on Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24, at UNF’s University Center. More information and registration can be found at https://healthcaresymposium.domains.unf.edu/.
