54

Superintendent Cathy Mittlelstadt recommends to the School Board Kristin Bozeman as the next principal of Matanzas High School. Mrs. Bozeman comes to Flagler Schools following a career in St. Johns County, where she was most recently the Director of Instructional Personnel. She also served as a teacher, registrar, and assistant principal in St. Johns County.

Mrs. Bozeman is a 2005 graduate of the University of Florida, earning her Bachelor of Arts in English. She then attended the University of North Florida, attaining her Master of Arts in English in 2007.

“Kristen’s background makes her a perfect fit for Matanzas High School,” says Superintendent Mittelstadt. “She will be focused on academics and building relationships within the campus walls and the community surrounding MHS. She will also be a guiding force as Matanzas prepares for unparalleled growth in the coming years.”

Kristen Bozeman cannot wait to arrive at “The Ship.” Of her new position, she says, "I am honored to be selected as the Principal of Matanzas High School. Working with High School students is my passion, so I can't wait to meet the students, staff, and families that make up Pirate Nation!"

Mrs. Bozeman hopes to begin her transition to Flagler Schools over the coming days.
