Public workshop scheduled for Thursday, July 28
On Thursday, July 28, starting at 2:00pm until 7:00pm, the City of St. Augustine will host an open-house style public workshop to discuss the current status of the Historic Area Community Redevelopment Area (HACRA) and a vision for its future. This includes identifying and discussing areas in need of improvement, such as addressing blight and traffic, suggestions for future projects, and extending the current sunset date of the HACRA Plan Amendment beyond 2030.
The city’s consultant, S&ME, Inc., created a dedicated website, https://bit.ly/StAugHACRA, which includes an interactive map and online survey. Anyone who visits the website can click on the interactive map to identify a specific location where a problem or concern exists and provide a detailed comment.
The survey is currently open and will be available on the project website through September 27, 2022.
Public Works Director Reuben Franklin, CRA Administrator Jaime D. Perkins, and representatives from S&ME, Inc. will be in attendance to answer questions. Residents, business owners, and concerned stakeholders are encouraged to attend and offer public comment.
The meeting will be held in The Alcazar Room of City Hall, located at 75 King Street. For those who cannot attend in person, a link is provided on the project website to join the meeting virtually. Individual participation in the workshop is expected to take approximately 20-25 minutes and attendees are free to come and go at any time for the duration of the workshop.
