Dumpster Pad Construction at the Funky Pelican Restaurant Begins Thursday, September 8th

Construction efforts will begin on the dumpster pad area of the Funky Pelican Restaurant on Thursday, September 8th, 2022. The Funky Pelican Restaurant is located at 215 S. A1A in Flagler Beach. The restaurant leases their space from the City of Flagler Beach. At this time, the Funky Pelican Restaurant is not expected to close at any point during the construction.

The dumpster pad area that will be under construction is located north of the Funky Pelican Restaurant entrance. The construction staging area will extend north from the restaurant entrance to the first pavilion structure and will cover 11 parking spots. The construction project is anticipated to take 60 days to complete. The public is being encouraged to avoid the construction area during this period.

City Manager, Mr. William Whitson, added, “This project is critical to ensuring that the new dumpster pad area will be functional and safe for the staff of the Funky Pelican Restaurant. We know that there will be some inconvenience to the public created, but we hope that the public understands that this work must be done to protect the safety of the workers and the long-term protection of our beach environment.”
