Osprey Robotics hosts showcase of newest robotic technology

The University of North Florida’s College of Computing, Engineering and Construction recently hosted an Osprey Robotics Showcase where the student team of computing and engineering majors showcased the latest in robotic technologies and presented a demonstration of their competition robot.

Guests attending the event included managerial/technical leaders from the regional robotics industry, members of the advisory boards for both the UNF School of Computing and the UNF School of Engineering, computing and engineering faculty who are active in robotics research as well as local alumni who were active club members in their own student years.

The Osprey Robotics club provides students with the annual opportunity to explore the world of engineering competition robotics by participating in competitions such as AUVSI's RoboSub and NASA's Robotic Mining Competition. Students work together as a team to solve real-world engineering problems by concepting, designing, manufacturing and operating complex mechatronic machines for competition. The team also builds professional connections with industry partners and sponsors as well as conducts various K-12 outreach events on campus and in northeast Florida, which are critical to the students' success.
