The Bolles boys’ and girls’ cross country teams swept district titles for the eighth straight year on October 17 at Bishop Kenny. The girls won the district meet for the 15th consecutive year and 23rd time overall. The boys won a district title for the eighth consecutive year and 15th overall.
Ella Mickler ’23 led the Bolles girls with the individual win and Jillian Candelino ’23 followed just .08 seconds behind as the two runners actually held hands in celebration as they crossed the finish line. Elizabeth Csikai ’23, Estella Bruneau ’25 and Elizabeth McClure ’25 were third, fourth and seventh to round out the Bolles scoring runners. Aidan Ryan ’23 repeated as the boys’ district champion, followed by Christopher Joost ’24 (3rd), Parker Adams ’25 (4th), Andrew McGraw ’23 (6th) and Matthew Thomas ’23 (8th) as the boys’ scorers.
Two days earlier, Bolles junior varsity and middle school runners raced the same BK course at the North Florida JV Championships. The Bolles JV girls claimed the team title behind individual winner Sofie Stam ’29. The Bulldogs claimed six of the top nine individual places. The boys placed third led by third place finisher Bode Klassen ’25. Middle school races were held as well with the Bolles boys winning the team title and girls placing fifth. Aidan Chandler ’27 won the middle school boys’ race.
The varsity teams advance to the Region 1-2A Championship, to be held Friday, October 28, at the New World Sport Complex at Cecil Field. The girls race at 8 a.m. and boys race at 8:30 a.m.
