29th Annual Nights of Lights begins with Light-Up! Night

Entertainment, free park and ride shuttle returns

The City of St. Augustine kicks-off the 29th Annual Nights of Lights season on Saturday, November 19, beginning at 4:00pm with a Showtime USA dance troupe performance in front of City Hall, followed by the All Star Orchestra in the Gazebo at the Plaza de la Constitución at 5:30pm.  

The lighting of the city’s holiday tree and canopy of live oak trees around the Plaza de la Constitución begins promptly at 6:30pm.  The Nights of Lights continues through Sunday, January 29, 2023.

The schedule of events for Saturday, November 19 includes: 

Light-Up! Night Entertainment

4:00pm Showtime USA, Parque de Menendez, St. Augustine City Hall, 75 King St.

5:30pm  All Star Orchestra, Gazebo, Plaza de la Constitución

6:30pm Lighting Ceremony, Gazebo, Plaza de la Constitución

St. Johns County School District employees:

  • Earl Cox, Jr., Custodian, Gaines Alternative School at the Evelyn Hamblen Center
  • Colleen Lahatte, Reading Interventionist, Crookshank Elementary School
  • Erin Cumpton, Fifth Grade Teacher, Ketterlinus Elementary School
  • Tracy Clauson, Spanish Teacher, Sebastian Middle School
  • Thomas “Wes” Miska, Algebra Teacher, St. Augustine High School
  • Amanda Garman, Principal, R. B. Hunt Elementary School

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP:  Visitor Information Center, 10 S. Castillo Dr.

WHERE TO PARK: Broudy’s Lot (corner of US 1 and W. King), 198 & 212 W. King St. 

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP:  Visitor Information Center, 10 S. Castillo Dr.

From Anastasia Island

TIMES:       4:00pm - 11:00pm

WHERE TO PARK:  Anastasia Baptist Church, 1650 A1A South

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP:  Bridge of Lions (east end)

Road closures/restricted parking

Cathedral Place:   Cordova St. and Avenida Menendez

Parking prohibited all day; street closed to vehicles 5:00pm – 8:00pm

King Street:           Cordova St. and Avenida Menendez

Parking prohibited all day; street closed as determined by police to ensure pedestrian safety
