Students on All Campuses Collect Food for Local Families in Need

Students on all four Bolles campuses hosted food drives in the weeks prior to Thanksgiving.

Bolles students on the Whitehurst, Bartram and San Jose Campuses as well as the Bolles School Sharks swimmers collected nearly 1,700 nonperishable food items for this year’s food drive benefiting students at Woodland Acres Elementary School. Kindergarten and Grade 4 tied for the most cans collected, with 4.8 cans per student. On November 18, a team of upper school students delivered, sorted and bagged the donations at the school before spending time with the Woodland Acres students.

Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus students collected food for families served by the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation. Organized by Assistant Head of School Anne Fallon, the students collected enough food to fill three large bins and about six boxes. The Ponte Vedra Beach Campus has a longstanding partnership with the nonprofit, which has provided youth development programs in Jacksonville since 1996.
