Students across all four Bolles campuses gathered for a special convocation on Thursday to celebrate Founders’ Day, which commemorates the School’s establishment 90 years ago on January 5, 1933.
The convocation kicked off with remarks from Bolles President and Head of School Tyler Hodges and the Pledge of Allegiance, which was led by Trevor Rice ’28 and Gabriella Louh ’27 for students in attendance on the Middle School Bartram Campus.
Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus students Sophie Trzasko ’32 and Amelia Trzasko ’34 and Lower School Whitehurst Campus student Harper Shad ’31 recited poems about why they love attending Bolles. Students then watched a dynamic video about Bolles’ rich history, and the following Bulldogs shared brief histories of their respective campuses:
- Aditi Ranjan ’23 (Upper School San Jose Campus)
- Chi Vo ’27 (Middle School Bartram Campus)
- Raaya Katugaha ’27 (Middle School Bartram Campus)
- Aksh Majithia ’30 (Lower School Whitehurst Campus)
- Karsyn Wilkins ’30 (Lower School Whitehurst Campus)
- Sydney Tonning ’30 (Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus)
- Ella Fox ’33 (Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus)
Bulldogs also enjoyed a second video featuring energetic students and faculty wishing Bolles a happy 90th birthday. Latin teacher Ginny Greenland, who has taught at Bolles for 46 years, was also recognized in the video as the School’s longest-serving faculty member.
Upon dismissal, faculty and staff distributed bracelets to lower school students that read, “Happy 90th Birthday, Bolles,” while upper and middle school students enjoyed delicious Founders’ Day cupcakes.
