Offices for the City of St. Augustine will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. In order to give staff  the opportunity to have the holiday off from work, the solid waste division will be closed on Monday, January 16. Please note that the solid waste collection schedule will be altered next week, and limited services will still be completed, such as litter pick up and commercial solid waste/recycling collections. There will be no yard debris collection and residential solid waste collections will be delayed by a day. The altered schedule is as follows:

  • Yard waste collections will resume Wednesday, January 25
  • Monday, January 16 - No residential collection
  • Tuesday, January 17 – Monday’s residential collection route
  • Wednesday, January 18 – Tuesday’s residential collection route
  • Thursday & Friday, January 19 & 20 – Normal residential recycling collection
Parking in city owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, except for the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. Drivers are urged to confirm if a lot is owned by the City of St. Augustine and not a private operator as many of those lots have strict towing policies.

Questions about waste pickup may be directed to Todd Grant, Utilities Director at 904-315-8499 or via email. For information regarding collections services for St. Johns County, please call 904-827-6980.  For information regarding collection service for St. Augustine Beach, please call 904-471-1119.
