The Jacksonville men's lacrosse team was ranked 18th in the country by both USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse.

The top 20 ranking comes after the Dolphins historic 2022 season that saw them boast a 14-3 record, and a perfect 5-0 stamp in SoCon play. JU enters the 2023 campaign with their three top point scorers from last season returning in Max Waldbaum, Jacob Greiner and Jackson Intrieri. The team also brings back an additional three reigning All-Conference players in Luke Millican, Troy Hettinger and Ethan LaMond. Waldbaum and Millican were recognized as All-Americans last season as well.

Redshirt junior Nathan Kapp returns to the faceoff dot for the Dolphins in 2023. Winning nearly 54 percent of faceoffs in his career, Kapp has the second most career faceoff wins in program history.

The goalkeeping tandem of Millican and Jason Yoquinto return to the crease for the Dolphins as well. The duo both had sub 8.50 goals allowed averages and played crucial roles for the team in 2022.

JU is the only representative out of the ASUN to land on either USA Lacrosse Magazine's or Inside Lacrosse's preseason rankings.

Jacksonville starts the 2023 campaign Feb. 4 against Johns Hopkins at 7 p.m. at the Rock Lacrosse Center. The Dolphins first ranked opponent comes the following week when No. 7 Duke visits Jacksonville for a contest on Feb. 11
