The City of Palm Coast has welcomed its first-ever Chief Sustainability and Resiliency Officer, Maeven Rogers. In her new role, Rogers will be responsible for developing and implementing the city's first Sustainability and Resiliency Plan. The plan will identify key challenges facing the city and outline a roadmap for achieving long-term goals.
The City of Palm Coast has welcomed its first-ever Chief Sustainability and Resiliency Officer, Maeven Rogers.
The role will be responsible for leading efforts to develop and implement strategies to enhance the city's conservation and efficient use of resources and to implement resilience measures to ensure Palm Coast’s vibrant future. Rogers will work closely with city leaders, community stakeholders, other government agencies, and residents to develop and implement initiatives that promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
“Sustainability and resiliency efforts are looking towards cities to be the answer to some of our most pressing environmental issues,” Rogers said. “I am honored to join the vibrant community here at Palm Coast and lead measures that integrate people, planet, and prosperity, providing a healthy community for all our residents.”
In her new role, Rogers will be responsible for developing and implementing the city's first Sustainability and Resiliency Plan. The plan will identify key challenges facing the city and outline a roadmap for achieving long-term goals.
Rogers joins the City of Palm Coast after her tenure with the City of Orlando and Orange County Government helping to lead and assist with regional sustainability efforts. In addition, Rogers is active in multiple environmental organizations and boards in Florida to best assist in implementing sustainability measures and improving the quality of life for residents.
"We are thrilled to have Maeven join our team as the first-ever Sustainability and Resiliency Officer," said Palm Coast City Manager Denise Bevan. “Her experience and passion for sustainability and resiliency will be instrumental in guiding our city towards a more sustainable future.”
Rogers graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master’s Degree in Communication. Her research focused on the intersection of communication and environment, collaboration, and sustainable development.
