WASHINGTON—On May 2, Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) issued the following statement recognizing April 30, 2023, to May 5, 2023, as “National Small Business Week.”

“This week, we celebrate the determination, ingenuity, and success of 2.8 million Florida businesses owners and entrepreneurs who have chartered their own course to provide jobs and a bright future for millions of Florida workers.

Across the state, small businesses are the cornerstone of the communities they serve. As a former small business owner, I know firsthand the burdens small businesses face. That’s why as your voice in Washington and member of the House Small Business Committee, I’m committed to restoring small business optimism and advancing solutions to make it easier for owners to invest, hire, and watch their enterprises grow. On National Small Business Week, I’m proud to highlight our hardworking patriots for their contributions to our economy and nation’s prosperity.”

Background:

For over 50 years the Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated National Small Business Week to honor the work and entrepreneurial spirit Main Street America brings to the business world. Click here to learn more about the SBA’s events to celebrate National Small Business Week.

Additionally, Congressman Bean has worked to stimulate job growth as member of the House Small Business Committee by leading the Freedom from Government Competition Act of 2023 to increase opportunities for private industries to provide goods and services without the threat of taxpayer funded government competition.
