WASHINGTON—On May 11, 2023, Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) voted to pass the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2), a sensible solution to end the border crisis and to stop crime and illegal drugs from flooding into our nation.“One of the federal government’s top responsibilities is protecting the homeland, and a secure border is critical to our national security. Today, House Republicans sent a message to the cartels, traffickers, and smugglers— this is the end.

We passed a series of historic policy changes to secure the border, prevent human trafficking, and defeat the drug cartels. To end the chaos at the border, we must enforce the law.”

Here Are the Top Solutions in H.R. 2, Secure the Border Act

  • Force the Biden Administration to restart construction of the border wall.
  • Deploy technology to the southern and northern border.
  • Increase the number of Border Patrol agents and provide bonus pay.
  • Require transparency regarding illegal crossings from the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Strengthen current law to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking.
  • End catch and release.
  • End abuse of executive immigration authority.
  • Strengthen and streamline the asylum process.
