4.7% of Nassau County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Nassau County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,979 people out of the 88,492 living in Nassau County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Nassau County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Nassau County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 39,913 people who had a job during that time, 385 were employed in the Armed Forces and 39,528 belonged to the civilian labor force.
