U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean from Florida has voted in favor of impeaching Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Bean accuses Mayorkas of neglecting his duties, refusing to enforce the nation's laws, and putting American lives at risk.

During Mayorkas' tenure, there have been staggering numbers of illegal crossings, with over 8.3 million nationwide and 7 million at the southern border alone. Additionally, 1.7 million individuals known as "gotaways" have evaded capture, and a record-breaking 169 terrorists have been apprehended while attempting to cross the border.

Congressman Bean, who has personally visited the southern border on two occasions, describes it as a "turnstile for crime, cartels, and drugs." He asserts that Mayorkas not only fails to address the chaos at the border but also actively supports and promotes it. Bean believes that Mayorkas' actions and failures must be held accountable.

In Bean's words, "When it comes to the border crisis, Americans are looking for leadership—not denials, deflections, and distractions. Secretary Mayorkas’ actions cannot go unanswered, nor can his failures be unaccounted for. The American people deserve better."

The issue of immigration and border security has been a contentious topic in the United States, and critics of Mayorkas argue that his approach and policies have exacerbated the situation. With the impeachment vote, Congressman Bean is adding his voice to the growing chorus of those calling for accountability and a change in leadership at the Department of Homeland Security.
