U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) has been recognized by the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) as one of only 38 House members to receive the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.” The NTU awarded Congressman Bean an "A" grade for his voting record supporting legislation aimed at reducing federal spending and lowering taxes during the first session of the 118th Congress.

“Inflation is the highest it’s been since 1982 and is squeezing Floridians’ budgets dry. The Biden-Harris administration’s policies have directly caused this tax on all Americans, while providing no immediate relief to Floridians when they need it most,” said Congressman Bean. “Northeast Floridians can’t afford Crazy Town’s excessive spending, but we are certainly paying for it. That’s why I’m working every day to lower taxes, reduce regulations, and fight reckless government spending.”

Pete Sepp, President of NTU, commented on the award: “Our nation is facing unprecedented fiscal challenges and Congress must act in a more fiscally responsible manner. Casting votes to reduce spending and limit the growth of government isn't always easy, but taxpayers should know that Congressman Bean has been one of the most consistent advocates for fiscal discipline. On behalf of the people who pay the government's bills, National Taxpayers Union thanks Congressman Bean for his strong voting record."

Since 1979, NTU has annually recognized Representatives and Senators who earn high voting scores qualifying them for the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.” Members of Congress are evaluated based on their votes affecting tax, spending, trade, and regulatory policy. Awards are presented to those who score 87 percent or higher.
