U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean has called for an audit and investigation into the mail delivery issues in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Complaints have been mounting from residents and businesses regarding delayed or lost mail, prompting Bean to demand action from USPS Inspector General Tammy Hull and the Office of Inspector General (OIG).

Joining Congressman Bean in this effort are fellow representatives Buddy Carter, Mike Waltz, John Rutherford, and Kat Cammack. Together, they seek answers to ongoing inconsistencies affecting families, seniors, and businesses in the region.

Bean stated, “Since January, I’ve had many constituents reach out with concerns regarding delivery delays and lost mail. We all rely on the USPS for timely delivery of mail and packages, and I understand it’s not just a service; it’s a critical resource. That’s why I’m pushing the USPS Inspector General for answers and solutions, not excuses.”

In their letter to the USPS Inspector General, the lawmakers emphasized their oversight role: “As members of Congress, it is our responsibility to conduct oversight and ensure the USPS is serving the people effectively. Therefore, we request the USPS Office of Inspector General to thoroughly audit and investigate the postal situation in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Specifically, we request to know the reason for the delays, how the transition to the Jacksonville RPDC has been implemented, and actions that can be taken to restore confidence in postal services in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.”

The full letter addressed to Inspector General Hull is available for public viewing.

Congressman Bean has consistently urged improvements at USPS facilities. Recently he joined his colleagues in advocating for greater transparency at Jacksonville's distribution center.
