On October 24, 2024, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean from Florida's 4th district was honored by the National Retail Federation (NRF) as a Congressional Retail Crime Fighter. This recognition came on Fight Retail Crime Day for his efforts in addressing organized retail crime, ensuring public safety, and supporting small business owners during the 118th Congress.

"Northeast Floridians are fed up with organized retail crime and the threat it poses to our communities and that’s why I’m taking action in Washington. I stand with our law enforcement and businesses as we work to end smash-and-grab robberies and theft crime rings. I’ll continue to advocate for common-sense legislation that holds these perpetrators accountable and restores law and order," stated Congressman Bean.

Congressman Bean is actively involved as a cosponsor of H.R. 895, known as the Combatting Organized Retail Crime Act. The act seeks to prevent future incidents affecting U.S. retailers by improving federal coordination, establishing a unified multi-agency response, and developing new tools to address evolving trends in organized retail theft.

The NRF designated October 24, 2024, as Fight Retail Crime Day to highlight the pressing need for legislative action against increasing retail crime rates.
