U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean recently participated in National School Choice Week by visiting schools in Clay County, Florida. His visits aimed to highlight the educational achievements in Northeast Florida. At R.M. Paterson and Orange Park Elementary Schools, Congressman Bean interacted with students from fourth to sixth grade, discussing laws and Congress. He also read children's books to kindergarten and first-grade classes.

Reflecting on his visits, Congressman Bean stated: “Americans know that one size does not fit all, and they want individual choice. Our kids’ education should be no different. Whether it’s virtual, private, charter, religious, homeschool, or even a public school in a different location—families should decide where and how their child learns. That’s why in Washington, I’m fighting for more power for parents, more options for students, and a better education for everyone—not just this week, but all year long.”

Earlier in the week, Congressman Bean co-sponsored a resolution marking January 26 through February 1 as "National School Choice Week." House Resolution 63 aims to highlight the need for expanding educational freedom nationwide.

On the House Floor, he acknowledged two top-performing schools recognized by the Florida Department of Education for the 2023-2024 school year: Orange Park Elementary ranked first and R.M. Paterson Elementary ranked tenth.

As part of his role on the House Education and Workforce Committee and as Chairman of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee during the 118th Congress, Congressman Bean supported H.R. 5—the Parents Bill of Rights—and led a subcommittee hearing on universal school choice.
